Uploading Documents

OWS makes uploading documents easy by giving you a file browser within your site.  To get to your file browser you can either:

  1. Click on the "My account" link;
  2. Click on "File browser."

  1. While editing a page, highlight the text you would like to link to a document;
  2. Click on the "Insert/edit link" button;
  3. Click on the button to the right of the "Link url" field.

The main elements of the file browser include:

  • The command tabs ("Upload," Thumbnails," "Delete," and "Resize");
  • The file name window;
  • And the preview window.

To upload a new file or image:

  1. Click on the "Upload" tab command;
  2. Click "Browse...";
  3. Select an image;
  4. Click the "Upload" button.

The file's name should now appear within the file name window.

Most major document types are supported.  Some file types are not allowed for security reasons (i.e. whenever possible, you should use .doc and .xls files instead of .docx and .xlsx).  If you believe that another file type should be added to the allowed list, please let us know.

Note: The process described on this page only uploads the document but does not link to it within your pages.  To add a manual link to a document, see manual links.

Currently, each user is permitted 2GB of space and may upload individual files that are up to 2MB in size.
